In short, this is the first open-source email gateway designed specifically for AI agents. It handles standard email routing but adds SPF/DKIM verification, HMAC-signed delivery, and message fan-out via webhooks and WebSockets.
The interesting part is how it adapts traditional email protocols into agent-friendly APIs and MCP interfaces. This means autonomous assistants can now securely and compliantly interact with the outside world via email, breaking out of the standard chat interface constraints.
